Had an amazing weekend! Friday night was The Dudes 8th birthday party at Pump It Up. We party hard, the proof being the concussion my sister got. My family is intense!
Saturday we got up at 5 am to accompany our older two boys (Trollson - 15 & Why - 13) to a Boy Scout canoeing/camping trip. We got in the water at 8:30 am and out at 4:30 pm. It was supposed to only be a six hour trip the first day, but the skill level of some of the Boy Scouts was not up to par for the amount of dead fall on the creek. We only made it about 2/3 of the distance we were supposed to clear.
We camped at a primitive site and it decided to rain. And rain. And rain. Thus cancelling day two’s canoeing plans. It was still really fun to get out and be active. Even if I had to pee in the woods.
Next month’s Boy Scout trip is camping and the beach for Father’s Day. Looking forward to the trip at the gun club and shooting rifles and shot guns!

Last night the kidlets and I decided to walk to the Dudes pack meeting instead of driving. It’s a nice 35 minute walk and we enjoyed the heck out of it. Seems to be becoming the preferred method of transportation for events in town.
Once at the meeting, we made and launched paper rockets to commemorate the launching of Skylab on May 14th, 1973. And who says Boy Scouts isn’t cool?

Why is so hard for men to answer a question? I don’t need an explanation that still doesn’t even answer the question that I asked! Just tell me what I want to know!

5. I get to go home to my awesome kiddies!
Dear Parent of player #4 on the T-ball team I coach,
I understand that you have issues working out your turn to do concession stand duty. Please remember than we all have “issues” we deal with on a daily basis. This does not exempt you from having to take your turn. Everyone else has signed up for their turns and I am sure it was a hassle for many others as well.
What would you like me to do about you not being able to take your turn? Shall I coach the team and do a shift in the stand at the same time? Please remember I am volunteering my time to coach your child. Maybe you could volunteer a little time to sell snacks to raise money for our league.
I think we both have something we can work on. You can work on realizing that you are not the most important person in the world. I can work on realizing that volunteering to coach kids T-ball means dealing with crazy ass parents like you.
Sincerely,
The lady who should stop volunteering to do things that deal with adults. Kids are cool. Adults are crazy….
